2025 brought its challenges, including the Canada Post strike along with an onslaught of U.S. tariff and policy changes. Through it all, we remained grateful for our incredible clients and your success stories. Your trust inspires us to continue delivering seamless, affordable shipping solutions. Here are some key highlights from the past year:

Stay in the Loop

Keeping you informed is a top priority. Our monthly newsletter shares essential updates and announcements relevant to shipping with Chit Chats. We also send timely notifications directly to your dashboard and email to ensure you’re always up to date. Learn how to customize these options so that you can tailor them to your needs. 

Low-cost Postage

Even with the removal of de minimis entry into the United States which means all U.S. shipments are subject to tariffs, we’ve been right by your side, working to find solutions that help keep costs under control.

Our USPS-based services, including Chit Chats U.S. Select, U.S. Edge, and more, continue to offer affordable cross-border shipping options. These services require Manufacturer Information, Country of Origin, and HTS codes for the products being shipped.

If you don’t have manufacturer information available, Chit Chats International to the U.S. is an alternative option that does not require it. Please note, however, that Country of Origin and HTS codes are still required for shipments.

Our commitment to providing cost-effective and reliable postage options remains strong as we head into 2026. Stay tuned, we’re actively working on new and exciting solutions to support your shipping needs.

Feature Improvements

Improving your experience with Chit Chats is something we take seriously. Based on your feedback here are a few of our favorites from the past year:

• Two-factor authentication (2FA): To improve security, we offer two-factor authentication (2FA).
• Additional International Locations: Chit Chats International Tracked delivers to a lot more destinations! Visit our support article for a complete list. 
• Upselling Tracking Feature: With the Upselling Tracking Feature, you can now showcase products on your public tracking page to drive additional sales.
• CARM Checklist: With CARM becoming a firm requirement in 2025, we included an easy to follow checklist that can be found in your return settings.
• Vague Description Detection: To facilitate shipping and help prevent potential delays, the platform has been updated to flag item descriptions that may not be detailed enough to clear customs.
• Digitized Workflows: The POA process is now fully digitized, allowing for the use of electronic signatures. This update also applies to the CUSMA process.

Important Updates

• With the introduction of tariffs, our platform now calculates applicable tariff rates based on the official U.S. HTS website.
• Certain products originating in Canada, the United States, or Mexico may qualify to enter the U.S. without tariffs under CUSMA (Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement).

We know that distance can be a barrier when accessing a drop-off location. That’s why we launched Chit Chats SmartDrop, to improve accessibility for Canadians across the country.

With this feature, you can drop off your consolidated Chit Chats shipments at one of our partner Spring’s locations across Canada. From there, Chit Chats takes care of the rest.
