New Features & Updates
Value Limit on Chinese-Origin Goods to the U.S.
- To conform with CBP regulations, the Chit Chats platform prevents Chinese-origin line items from having a value of more than $250 USD.
‘Request Refund’ Button
- To make the ‘Request Refund’ button easier to find, we’ve moved it out of the ‘Other’ section and placed it prominently at the end of the list of options.

Chit Chats Does Not Ship to X Country
- You will now see an explanation when attempting to purchase postage to a country not supported by Chit Chats International Tracked. This message also includes a direct link to our available countries article.
Error Messages for Country of Origin & Manufacturer Details
- We have updated the error messages when the Country of Origin or Manufacturer Information is incorrect/incomplete for U.S.-bound shipments.
Authentication Apps
- Two-factor authentication (2FA) now supports authentication apps.
Auto-Generation of Manufacturer IDs
- The auto-generation of Manufacturer IDs has been updated to reflect the latest ISO codes for Canadian provinces.
Estimated Delivery Times – U.S. DDP Solution
- In line with current processing timelines, U.S. DDP shipments now reflect an extended delivery estimate on the platform, up to an additional 5 business days.
Shipment Creation Workflow
- We’ve enhanced the shipment creation workflow to provide clearer guidance on the requirements for U.S.-bound shipments, making it easier for you to stay compliant.

Domestic Postage Types
- To enhance the client experience, unused Chit Chats Select and Canada Tracked labels will now expire after 7 days, consistent with other postage types.
- This change helps avoid issues when submitting insurance claims.

Service Updates
U.S. Shipments – Tariffs in Effect
- Starting May 2, the U.S. government has implemented tariffs for Chinese-origin goods (including Hong Kong and Macau).
- All items in U.S.-bound shipments must be physically marked with the declared Country of Origin.
- Tariffs have been temporarily reduced from 145% to 30% and will raise to 54% starting August 12.
U.S. DDP Postage
- We’ve launched our U.S. DDP solution for those who ship products made in China and would like to pay for duties in advance.
- These are USPS-services (excluding U.S. Select), but require additional information due to the method of entry (manufacturer information and HTS codes).
New U.S. DDU Solution: Expedited Parcel USA
- To provide alternatives for those with tariff-impacted shipments, we’ve launched Expedited Parcel USA in collaboration with Canada Post.
- This service is similar to Tracked Packet USA, where the recipient will be responsible for duties upon delivery, but comes with larger dimensional allowances.
Canada Post-based U.S. Services
- Tracked Packet USA and Expedited Parcel USA now qualify for $100 CAD carrier insurance through Canada Post.
New U.S. DDU Solution: Chit Chats International Tracked
- Chit Chats International Tracked now services the U.S. and is a new U.S. DDU option, where the recipient will be responsible for duties upon delivery. Learn more
- If you have access to Media Mail, you can use it for qualifying U.S.-bound Chit Chats International Tracked shipments.
ALL Canada Post-based Services
- Canada Post employees are currently refusing overtime as a strike action, and there is a risk of additional action, including a national disruption or rotating strike.
- In the meantime, use Chit Chats Select for your domestic shipments and Chit Chats International for your U.S. DDU shipments as alternatives to prevent disruption.
- Using Canada Post-based services at this time is done at your OWN risk

Bug Fixes
- Resolved: The pop-up for U.S. DDP postage was not displaying correctly.
- Resolved: There was the ability to modify the Country of Origin on shipments after purchasing postage.
- Resolved: An issue was preventing the purchase of USPS-based services.
- Resolved: Several bug fixes were affecting Expedited Parcel USA shipments.
- Resolved: There was a problem affecting the purchase of Chit Chats Select labels.
- Resolved: There were errors related to purchasing Chit Chats U.S. Select labels.
