Updates To Our U.S. Services
Update July 10
Our new U.S. services will launch today, July 10, as planned; however, we are working to resolve a few technical issues that arose over the weekend with the launch of the new USPS Ground Advantage service. As a result, we have had to discontinue our Chit Chats U.S. Tracked postage type earlier than scheduled.
If you encountered issues with the rates for your Chit Chats U.S. Tracked postage, we are here to assist you. For those who have already sent in a support ticket, one of our agents will respond back as soon as they are available with updates on the resolution. Once we have resolved all known issues, we will provide you with an update here.
We thank you for your understanding and apologize for the disruption to your workflow as we work to support this brand new service. For assistance accessing our new postage types or transitioning your import workflow, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team. We have exciting updates to share on our U.S. services. This is related in part to upcoming changes from USPS. Read on to learn the details as we remain committed to providing you with affordable postage options that help your business reach the U.S. market.
Starting Monday, July 10, Chit Chats U.S. Tracked will be phased out and in its place the following U.S. postage options will be available:
- Chit Chats U.S. Select*
- Chit Chats U.S. Edge
- USPS Priority Mail
*Only available to ON, QC & Atlantic clients
Chit Chats U.S. Select
Our most affordable option for U.S. shipments will be Chit Chats U.S. Select. This service is in collaboration with USPS to get shipments to your customers for less but with slightly longer transit times, between 4-9 business days. Shipments are inducted into the USPS network for final mile delivery and you can expect to see USPS tracking updates during the latter half of your shipment’s journey. At this time this, Chit Chats U.S. Select will only be available to clients in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Chit Chats U.S. Edge
On July 9, USPS will replace their First Class Package & Parcel Select services with a new offering called Ground Advantage. With this change we are excited to introduce Chit Chats U.S. Edge which taps into the Ground Advantage network to provide a fast and affordable option. Chit Chats Edge has estimated transit times of 3-6 business days and is the perfect option for businesses of all sizes to ship anywhere in the U.S.
USPS Priority Mail
When your shipments need quicker transit times and extra assurance, USPS Priority Mail is your best option. Send shipments to your U.S. customers with this premium service for delivery within 2-4 business days. With this service you can opt for signature confirmation for additional peace of mind.
Importing shipments or using our API?
To access these great services while importing your shipments or using the Chit Chats API, you’ll need to update your inputs for the postage_type field on July 10.
- Chit Chats U.S. Select: chit_chats_us_select
- Chit Chats U.S. Edge: chit_chats_us_edge
- USPS Priority: usps_priority
If you use our presets tool, please make sure to review your saved settings and update accordingly as Chit Chats U.S. Tracked will be phased out by July 14. The postage type, chit_chats_us_tracked will not be available after July 14 and may result in errors when finding a postage rate.

If you have already purchased postage for Chit Chats U.S. Tracked, we will continue to accept them during the transition period. Please continue to sort and drop them off your U.S. shipments at Chit Chats and you can track them as you normally would.
