Annual Rate Increases 2024
Update October 4, 2024
From October 6 until January 19, USPS will implement 2024 holiday shipping season surcharges. This is done annually by USPS to address the increased shipping demand during the holiday season. During this period, you will see an increase for the following services:
- Chit Chats US Edge
- USPS Priority Mail
- USPS Priority Mail Express

Carrier rate increases happen every year and take into consideration the increased cost of delivery amid rising inflation rates. Typically rate increases would happen in early January however due to recent logistics changes and fluctuations, they are determined on the evolving industry landscape.
We are committed to providing the best service and minimizing any impact to our valued clients. In the event of a significant increase that will affect your rates we will make every effort to provide advanced notice, ensuring transparency and allowing you to plan accordingly.
- USPS follows a bi-annual rate increase and it was anticipated that this would only affect lettermail but Parcel services were added at the last moment. The increase is on average 1.4% and impacts shipments over 1 lb has been implemented and no action is required.
- Canpar peak season rates increase on October 4, 2024 and will remain in effect until January 13, 2025. Please refer to Canpar’s update for details.
