A Better Way to Print Postage: The Latest Version of the Chit Chats Printer App
If you print postage through Chit Chats, you may already be familiar with the Chit Chats Printer App. It makes label printing simple across printer types, whether you print directly to a ZPL-compatible printer or use print preview with a standard printer.
We’ve just released a new and improved version (0.05.3) with updates designed to make printing faster, more reliable, and easier to set up. Whether you’re printing a few labels or working through a larger batch of shipments, the updated app is here to help keep your shipping workflow moving!
What’s new?
- Preview your labels before printing
When using a non-ZPL printer, you can now preview your PDF labels before sending them to your printer. This gives you an extra opportunity to check your labels before they hit the printer.
- This mostly depends on what format the printer uses. For example: Dymo prints PDF. So this will fall under the “Print Preview” method and display preview window when printing with Dymo.
- Faster, more reliable batch printing
Printing a large number of labels is now faster and more reliable. The app is better equipped to keep working through your labels when your internet connection or our servers take a little longer to respond.
- A smoother setup experience
Getting connected is easier, too! The new version includes clearer connection status messages and improved troubleshooting support, helping you understand what’s happening when setting up your printer.
What can I use the Printer App for?
The Chit Chats Printer App supports ZPL/thermal printing, allowing your browser to communicate with compatible printers using ZPL label commands.
While we recommend using a ZPL-compatible thermal printer for the best experience, you can also print Chit Chats labels using non-ZPL thermal printers or standard desktop printers.
Some commonly supported ZPL printers include:
- Zebra ZP450
- Zebra LP 2844-Z
- Zebra GX420D
- DYMO LabelWriter 4XL
- Citizen CL-S521
