New Features & Updates

Character Limit – Chit Chats International

  • Recipient names on Chit Chats International labels now have a 35-character limit, matching our partner carrier’s requirements.

Troubleshooting Postage rates

  • When no rates appear while creating a shipment manually, a new support article link will appear that explains common causes. For Canadian shipments, this is most commonly because the address is not serviced by our partner and cannot deliver to the address.

Return Addresses Toolbar

  • There is now a toolbar in the return section which provides detailed explanations about return addresses.

Sign-up Flow & Onboarding Checklist

  • We’ve improved the sign-up flow and onboarding checklist to improve visibility of store integrations.

CARM Disclaimer

  • A new disclaimer was added that informs users about potential CARM Portal registration issues. There’s still no set deadline for registering as of yet.

Canada Post Disclaimers

  • When purchasing postage manually, you will see various reminders regarding the Canada Post strike. Only Chit Chats Canada Tracked, Slim, and Canadian return shipments are affected.

Presets

  • When creating shipment presets, you will now see a warning that line-item presets are required for descriptions and retail values.

Service Updates

Canada Post Strike

  • Canada Post began a full shutdown strike Friday, November 15. All mail in their network is on hold, with no new mail accepted.
    • Chit Chats Select is the only domestic service available during the strike with 90% coverage and does not deliver to PO boxes and some rural areas.

Bug Fixes

  • In progress: Resetting your password during sign-up is currently unavailable. The temporary solution is to delete your account and re-register. A permanent fix is in progress.
  • Resolved: USPS First Class Lettermail 4×6 labels now print correctly with full visibility.
  • Resolved: Automated emails prompting CARM registration for Canadian returns were mistakenly sent and have been corrected.
