When To Use Carrier Packaging

Some carriers provide packaging that should be used exclusively with their services. For example, USPS provides packaging for their Priority Mail services. This branded packaging can only be used when shipping USPS Priority Mail. They cannot be used when shipping with our Canada Tracked or Asendia services.

If you use a service that doesn’t correspond to the postage rate selected it can cause the shipment to be delayed, the package to be returned to sender or the shipment may incur a postage adjustment.

We also want to remind our clients that we cannot accept branded carrier boxes that are covered in other wrappings. We adhere to all our partner carriers’ rules. And it is for this reason any covered shipments will not be accepted and your package may be delayed.

Here are some common examples for when carrier packaging cannot be used:

  • If you have a First Class Package postage label on a Priority Mail box: a postage adjustment may be applied or your shipment may be delayed until the correct postage label or packaging is applied
  • Using a UPS box to ship with USPS First Class postage can cause a delay with your shipment as this uses a UPS box to ship a USPS service
