Important Update: Now Accepting Shipments to Amazon FBA and Fulfillment Centres

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reversed their ruling and effective today we will be able to accept Amazon FBA destined packages. The $800 USD retail value limit still applies for packages destined to the same Amazon FBA fulfillment centres.

For example, if you are sending 3 boxes to 3 separate Amazon FBA centres in the US the maximum value per box to the same address must be $800 USD retail value or less. In this scenario if the 3 boxes were being shipped to 3 different Amazon FBA addresses in the U.S. each box can be up to the $800 USD retail value.

All Amazon FBA destined packages still require an invoice at the time the shipment is dropped off.

We are happy to offer this service once again as we know it was a vital option to many Canadian sellers.

Today U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) informed us that U.S. import laws and regulations restrict shippers from claiming tax and duty free entry into the United States on all packages destined for Amazon FBA and other fulfillment centres.  The laws and regulations that govern informal tax and duty free entry do not apply to goods that have not been sold and are imported for commercial purposes.

Effective immediately, Chit Chats will no longer accept packages destined for Amazon FBA and other fulfillment centres.

U.S. CBP confirmed they will be closely monitoring for these shipments. We were informed today by U.S. Customs officials that the alteration of addressee information and declaration information, with the intent to circumvent the regulations and any other restriction is considered an act of fraud and just action will be taken by CBP.

Chit Chats takes shipping seriously.  We want your packages to move smoothly and without delays.  As a result, our team will be strictly enforcing this policy.
