Important: Prohibited Items

Reminder of non-compliant items that cannot be shipped

Some items are prohibited and cannot be shipped with Chit Chats. There are also restrictions which vary by carrier.

Please familiarize yourself with all carrier restrictions as it is the shipper’s responsibility to comply with each carrier’s requirements.

When shipping certain items with USPS International and Asendia International please note the specific restrictions outlined below:

Lithium batteries

International Mail — strictly prohibited from being shipped internationally as they cannot travel via airmail.

Domestic Mail — may be shipped domestically provided they meet the following conditions:

  • A lithium battery may be shipped via airmail or ground mail (i.e. USPS Parcel Select) if it is installed in the device it is powering, or if it is packed along with the device
  • This is limited to a quantity of either 8 cells or 2 batteries.
  • An individual lithium battery not packed with or installed in the device it is powering can be shipped via ground mail only (i.e. USPS Parcel Select). This is also limited to a quantity of either 8 cells or 2 batteries.

Note: Damaged or recalled batteries are strictly prohibited from being shipped.

Nail Polish and Perfume

International Mail — all flammable materials such as nail polish or perfumes containing alcohol are strictly prohibited from being shipped internationally as they cannot travel via airmail.

Domestic Mailing — flammable materials such as nail polish and perfumes containing alcohol may be shipped domestically via ground mail only (i.e. USPS Parcel Select). View the packaging instructions for flammable liquids provided by USPS.

TSA Restrictions for Asendia

Please ensure to always provide detailed descriptions of your contents. For example: cosmetics is too generic and a specific description is required (i.e. lipstick or facial cream).

Below is the most up to date list of prohibited items. If you are concerned or unsure if your product meets the requirements please contact us at support@chitchats.com and someone from our compliance team would be happy to help.
