Feature Release Notes: May 2020

Here’s our monthly roundup of all the updates and new features released in May. Plus important updates on how the pandemic has impacted shipping and delivery times.

COVID-19 Impacts

As the world continues to take the necessary precautions to combat the global pandemic, we see the impacts this has on shipping and e-commerce. Due to limited transportation and staffing, increased safety measures and high shipment volumes this has caused significant delays in shipping. The impacts of this have been seen particularly with Canadian and international shipments. Find details on service impacts for our partner carriers:

  • USPS
    • The U.S. Postal Service advised they will need to adjust international rates to help offset the impact of limited transportation flows, reduced staffing, COVID-19 safety measures and an increase of volumes.
  • Canada Post
  • Asendia
  • Canpar

International shipments are severely delayed and depending on the destination country, there are reports of delays anywhere between 2-4 weeks in addition to estimated transit times. Tracking international shipments can be tricky since several carriers handle their journey. Read our recent posts to help:

Given the current state of shipping, we strongly recommend that you insure your shipments. Chit Chats Insurance is a low-cost way to cover for loss or damage in the event that the shipment is not delivered as planned. Learn more about Chit Chats Insurance

Our client support team is working hard to respond to all the inquiries received as we have received a higher than normal volume. We appreciate your patience. Please note the new hours for our client support team are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm ET.
